Intense Week of Training and Riding Horses

Sat Nov 21, 2009, 4:45 AM
This week has been pretty exciting! I've been riding everyday since Thursday and I have been riding English everyday since Monday I think and my butt is soooooo sore >< I feel stiff and achy but... I'm going riding again this afternoon too! xD

My cousin has had me riding his little racking filly who is about 3 now. We've been training her for speed racking. Her name is Beauty and later on today I'll upload a picture of her, and possibly tomorrow I'll have a picture of the Walker I've been riding named Samantha.

Then next Saturday is our town's annual Christmas Parade (kinda early I know lol xD), and we're decorating the horses up so I should have plenty of pictures xD

I also plan on getting a picture of a 5 year old gelding named Houdini. He's a Tennessee Walker and in his first show at about 2 years old he came in 2nd place. His only downfall is that he's a spunky horse that is taller than me at the withers.... and I'm almost 5'10" xD

I have to have help getting on this one lol He's a total ham though. If you ask him a yes or no question he'll nod his head if he answers yes and do nothing if he answers no xD My cousin's wife, her name is Shawnda and my cousin's name is Kevin, asked Houdini if he was smarter than Kevin. Houdini didn't respond. My dad asked him the same question and got the same response. Then Kevin asked Houdini if he was smarter than me, still no response.

I looked at the horse and said, "Houdini?" Just to get his attention. He looked at me and I went, "Are you smarter than Kevin?"

....

Houdini nodded his head xD

But then yesterday I got on Beauty and we were working on her left turn, cause she sometimes tries to get away with things, and she put up such a fight we got really close to the wall in the barn... well that wouldn't have been a problem had there not been a shovel in the way that bashed into my knee. The shovel hitting me spooked her and she jumped around but I got her calmed down and we completed another circuit before I pulled her up and let dad clip the lead line on her to tie her next to a stall for me to work out the pain in my knee lol

Just the other day I ran into the hitch of a truck and have a humongous bruise >< It hurts like all heck too.

I should have pictures of all the horses up by either late tonight or tomorrow.

Heyy ya'll (yeah I'm Southern). I guess I should introduce myself. I'm FleetingFantasia or Fanta or Mojo (soccer team nickname kinda stuck XD) or Momo. Whichever works for you guys. I enjoy horse racing and I infact got to see this year's Preakness Stakes where Rachel Alexandra won. I was hoping either Mine That Bird or Pioneerof the Nile would win but oh well. Then Summer Bird wins the Belmont so I believe it's been a GREAT year for Birdstone.

I enjoy playing soccer, watching anime, reading manga (or anything really), watching House/Burn Notice/Royal Pains, and riding horses.

And I just have one thing left to say...

I still like Secretariat better than I do Man O' War, (who even though is second in my heart to Secretariat) was an amazing horse.

{Yeah that's my car ^^ lol)

Oh Samantha is a walker and Beauty is a racker =] Dad says if I can earn the money he'll let me get her. The guy will sell her to me for $500. ^^ But then my cousin offered to sell me his racker Beauty for $800. He originally said $400 but changed his mind and doubled the price ><

Oh yeah! I'd say so! He's a nice stallion! There is this turf sprinter retiring at the end of the year I sooooo want to breed to. No Bias No Hate trained and owned by Jon Xett.
